Ladies and Gentlemen:
The District #4 Board expresses gratitude for the community support we receive and appreciation to the personnel who tirelessly serve them.
District #4 recently undertook diligence required for continuing International Accreditation and its Property Insurance Association of Louisiana Rating (“PIAL”). PIAL’s Municipal Division evaluates fire protection capabilities to determine a Protection Classification in the graded area. That diligence examined how successfully District #4 utilizes personnel, equipment, and resources to accomplish its mission. To maintain the highest level of services, District #4 adheres to strategic best practices when deploying resources in response to emergencies. You may see ladder trucks on Interstate 12 responding to a traffic crash and blocking the roadway. Fire service best practice shows this improves the safety of personnel and commuters. You may also see a fire engine respond together with an ambulance to a life emergency. Again, life safety best practice shows this expedites care giving and improves patient safety.
As evidence best practices results in improved services, District #4 received a score of 100.27 out of 100 on its most recent PIAL rating. This means District #4 retains its Class 1 PIAL rating, is a benchmark in the fire and life safety services, and property insurance premiums will be lower in our jurisdiction compared to other jurisdictions with a lower rating.
As Board Chairman, and on behalf of the Board and District #4 personnel, we remain committed to the delivery of superior fire and life safety services in this jurisdiction.
Respectfully,
Wm. H. Dobson, LPI
Chairman, Board of Commissioners
St. Tammany Parish Fire District #4
