Dear Residents and Members:
The Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that Fire Chief Kenneth Moore has agreed to remain the District’s Fire Chief for four more years. Chief Moore and our members have accomplished a great deal during the past five years. For example, the District has attained a PIAL Class 1 insurance rating. One of only a few in Louisiana to do so. Further, it has earned International Accreditation. Second in Louisiana to do so. Beyond that, the District has maintained financial transparency as proven by consecutive clean annual financial audits conducted by independent auditors. Also, the District continues equipment modernization and infrastructure improvement goals necessary to meet emergency response demands which includes the construction of two additional fire stations and a new training tower.
Our members will bravely respond to more than 7000 fire and hazard emergencies in 2021 while continuing towards national standard response times. In addition, they have selflessly responded to hundreds of COVID-19 and Hurricane Ida related emergencies.
I and the other Commissioners reaffirm our belief in Fire Chief Moore and members. We support them as the District’s resources and budget permit.
In closing, on behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we acknowledge Chief Moore’s superior leadership, and laud our members’ efforts. Both have resulted in the finest Fire Protection District in Louisiana.
Respectfully,
Wm. H. Dobson, LPI
Chairman, Board of Commissioners
St. Tammany Parish Fire District #4
